70% in Mississippi Approve of Job Barbour Is Doing As Governor
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Mississippi finds that 70% approve of the job Republican Governor Haley Barbour is doing. Twenty-eight percent (28%) disapprove.
These findings include 41% who Strongly Approve of the job Barbour is doing and just 14% who Strongly Disapprove.
Barbour earns better marks than President Obama in the Republican-leaning state where 56% of voters rate the president’s handling of the Gulf oil crisis as poor. It’s important to note, however, that voters were not asked to rate Barbour’s handling of the oil leak but were asked instead about his overall performance as governor.
Overall, 37% of Mississippi voters approve of how Obama is performing as president. Sixty percent (60%) disapprove. This is a more negative rating than Obama earns nationally in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll.
